The Ruins of St. Paul’s façade is one of the monuments of the Historic Centre of Macao which was inscribed in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2015. As the construction materials of the Ruins of St. Paul’s is very different from the model construction materials, such as reinforced concrete, the analysis of the capacity to resist some natural disastrous such as earthquake or typhoon may not be applied directly by using model structural design code. Therefore, capacity spectra analysis is applied to investigate the possible failure mechanisms and the demands of the façade for resisting possible seismic loading.
